The United Way has reached the half way mark in this year’s community fundraising campaign.

Donations received from individuals, corporations and local businesses reached 51% of the $2-million target last week, the agency said.

“We are trending approximately one week behind the 2017 pace,” said campaign chair Vicky Ducharme. “We know that the second million dollars will be a challenge and we need the community’s help to reach the goal. We have about nine weeks remaining.”

The $2-million target is the same amount that was raised in 2017. The money supports 35 programs and services in Sarnia-Lambton.
