The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton has done it again.

The umbrella fund-raising organization said last week it had reached this year’s target of $2 million, continuing a streak of success that spans more than two decades.

“It was a challenging year and we are proud of our $2-million achievement,” said campaign chair Richard Kelch.

“We want to thank the community two million times over.”

The United Way funds 37 programs provided by 20 agencies, and the money raised will help maintain those services.

Kelch said generous long-time donors combined with new donors kept the campaign thermometer moving upward.

“This was no small feat,” he said.
