Sarnia’s 402 Business Park is finally seeing some action.

Union Gas and the Carpenters’ Union Local 1256 have each purchased land in the municipally-owned park, which is sandwiched between London Line and Highway 402 east of Airport Road.

The Carpenters bought an additional two acres for $114,000 on Business Park Drive, directly across the street from the union’s existing headquarters.

The proposed training facility will be roughly 11,000-square-feet and could open by the end of this year.

Union Gas, which is about to become the third enterprise in the largely vacant business park, has been issued a $4.2 million building permit.

The utility’s plans call for a new operations centre with offices and warehouse space.
