Two Sarnia runners had strong results at the third Athletics Ontario outdoor track and field championship July 12-14 in Toronto.

Andrew Davies won gold in the U20/Junior Men’s 5000 metres event at the York University track facility.

Davies’ time of 14:31.30 was a personal best and moved him to 2nd in the Athletics Canada/National rankings for the event.

Davies competes next at the Athletics Canada National Championships July 25-28 in Montreal.

Sarnia’s Caroline Forbes was 5th in the U20/Junior Women’s 3000m event with a time of 10:21.83, missing a bronze medal by just 1.53 seconds.

Davies is a member of the Windsor Legion Track and Field Club and Forbes is with Hamilton’s Harbour Track Club.

The Northern Collegiate grads are also teammates on McMaster University’s cross country and track team.
