Trains and boats and just plain cold

Point Edward’s Marc Dease didn’t let a little Arctic vortex dampen his passion for ship and train photography last week. Dease has been shooting Great Lakes freighters for about 30 years and began documenting trains five years ago. He’s seen here at Centennial Park, in minus -17 C temperatures, waiting for the perfect moment to capture a passing train hauling grain from the Cargill Elevators. Glenn Ogilvie
