Two local athletes won silver medals at the Canadian Track and Field Championships in Ottawa.
Northern Collegiate graduate Andrew Davies, competing as a member of the Windsor Legion Track and Field Club, won a silver medal in the men’s junior (under-20) 5,000-metre event.
The recent Stefanko Award winner is preparing to attend McMaster University in Hamilton.
Petrolia’s Marissa Mueller, of the Sarnia Athletics Southwest Track & Field Club, also brought home a silver medal, in the junior women’s javelin.

Jillian Drouin – 4th – senior women’s shot put, 5th – high jump, 16th – 100 hurdles.
Zion Webb – 4th – junior men’s discus, 12th – shot put
Johnny Vanos – 5th – junior men’s discus, 8th – hammer throw, 10th – shot put
Matt Boyce – 8th – junior men’s discus
Greg Ross – 13th – junior men’s javelin
Brittany Simon – 10th – senior women’s 400 metre
