July 2 Update: Number of local cases down to three

Sarnia-Lambton's COVID-19 situation continues to improve.

For a 12th straight day Lambton Public Health reported no new cases this morning.

And the number of known, active cases is now down to three after being as high as 16 on June 20.

Bluewater Health currently has no COVID-positive patients in acute care, and hasn’t had any since mid-June.

The last of nine institutional outbreaks is at Afton Park Place, which had one staff member test positive around June 18.

Since March 25, Sarnia-Lambton has had 285 cases of the novel coronavirus and 25 deaths, with no new fatalities since early June.

More than 12,400 test results have been received, including more than 1,000 results over the past week.
