A creative concept to add painted stones and build a snake of rocks along the Point Edward river front has grown into a community attraction and a fascinating message board of sorts.
Rocky the Snake was started by local resident Wendy Marsden and her partner Rick in early June with a little sign that invited everyone to add their own painted rocks.
Rocky soon grew to several hundred feet and made the news.
His popularity only increased over the summer as thousands of painted rocks were added and he became two feet wide and a city block long.
Day and night, passersby stop and read the messages that have been added and appreciate the effort that went into painting so many rocks.
