Enhanced security measures are coming to Tecumseh Park to help discourage theft and vandalism.

City council approved $82,500 in capital funds recently for security upgrades that include new surveillance video cameras at the popular south-Sarnia facility.

Work is currently underway at Tecumseh Park and Norma Cox Youth Centre with the addition of new playground equipment, a new skate park and upgrades to the splash pad.

A preliminary design for the new skate park has been complete, and City Hall plans to host a community forum with more details at a future date.

The day-use park at 334 Russell St. S. also features tennis courts, ball diamond, a BMX track, basketball courts and washrooms.
