Registered dietician Shaylin Kemmerling test drives the new Nova Chemicals Teaching Kitchen at the Rapids Family Health Team on Pontiac Drive. The kitchen unveiled last week will help patients learn how to cook healthy meals and be used to demonstrate adaptive equipment for people with complex medical conditions so they can cope in their own kitchens. More than 5,000 patients are referred to health team dieticians every year for nutrition counselling.
