Police say an investigation is ongoing after the discovery of a suspicious package at a Sarnia business, Thursday.
A portion of Confederation Street was closed after what was believed to be a “possible explosive device” was found by an employee that morning.
Police were called to the 1200 block of Confederation Street at 6:40 a.m., and, out of “an abundance of caution” contained the area — closing the roadway between Trudeau Drive and Murphy Road — and brought in the Ontario Provincial Police Bomb Squad.
“The item was deemed safe by the OPP Bomb Squad but a further investigation into what the device was, is still ongoing,” a news release noted.
The road was re-opened to the public around 12:40 p.m.
