Three Lambton County residents were charged with impaired driving offences Wednesday, Ontario Provincial Police say.

A 42-year-old St. Clair Township man faces impaired driving charges following a traffic stop on Lyndoch Street in Corunna, Wednesday evening.

Lambton OPP say the vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation around 7:30 p.m., when police suspected the driver had been drinking.

“A roadside screening device was administered which resulted in a fail,” a news release noted. “The driver was arrested and transported to a Lambton OPP detachment where further testing resulted in the driver being over the legal limit.”

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in Sarnia court on March 15, 2023.

A 35-year-old from St. Clair Township also faces impaired driving charges after police received several reports about a suspected impaired driver in the area of Kimball and Plank Roads in Sarnia.

Lambton OPP say the reports came in around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, and officers located the vehicle shortly after.

“Upon speaking with the driver, officers formed the opinion that the driver was impaired by alcohol,” a news release noted. “ The driver was arrested and transported to an OPP detachment were subsequent testing revealed the individual was more than twice the legal limit.”

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before in Sarnia court on March 27, 2023.

Meanwhile, a Watford woman was charged after police received a call about a suspected impaired driver in North Middlesex, around 6:15 p.m., Wednesday. A traffic stop was conducted by Middlesex OPP, and the 40-year-old driver was charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand; and operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 4, 2023.
