Spring Celebration raises $40k for outdoor classroom, playground at King George school

More than $40,000 was raised at King George VI Public School in Sarnia for the Spring Celebration held earlier this month to help build a new playground and outdoor classroom for the littlest ‘Knights’.

The event included prizes donation from dozens of local businesses, live music, an auctioned, team-signed Sarnia Sting jersey, a car/motorcycle show, non-alcoholic tastings tastings from Twin Pines Orchard, treats and games.

Donations included a $10,750 contribution from the Seaway Kiwanis Sarnia.

Funds raised will go towards a much-needed playground and outdoor kindergarten area at the school.
