Toilet paper has taken on special meaning during this pandemic; a sentiment two young Point Edward sisters have turned it into a hobby business.

Starting at $5, customers can order a roll for a loved one prepared by Gwen and Savannah Hart. Each “TP Grams” comes wrapped in a blue ribbon with a hand-written note and a bag of chocolates or tea.

“I like writing the notes,” said Savannah, 6. Sister Gwen’s favourite part is the deliveries.

“It makes me happy,” the 5-year-old said.

With help from mom Chelsey Hart, the Bridgeview Public School students are dropping off 10 to 20 TP Grams each week to doorsteps in Sarnia and Point Edward.

“The surprised smiles and laughs from the recipients are a pleasure to be a part of,” Chelsey Hart said. “It creates a sense of connection during a time many people are feeling isolated.”

Hart, a career coach and entrepreneur, said the project is helping the girls learn about money management while school is closed.

Gwen and Savannah can save their profits or spend them at the family’s homemade candy store, mom explained.

TP Grams can be ordered via email at [email protected], online at www.tp-grams.myshopify.com or by calling 519-328-8494.

Deliveries and pick-up are available in Sarnia and Point Edward only, with no delivery to apartment buildings.

The rolls are available for a few more weeks, after which Savannah wants to set up a contactless lemonade stand, her mother said.
