Two sisters who galvanized Sarnia-Lambton to continue the fight against asbestos exposure have been recognized with an award from the Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation.

Two sisters who galvanized Sarnia-Lambton to continue the fight against asbestos exposure have been recognized with an award from the Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation.

Stacy Cattran and Leah Nielsen organized the Walk to Remember the Victims of Asbestos, which draws up to 500 participants annually to remember those impacted by asbestos-related disease.

Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley said the pair wouldn’t let the community forget what happened here, while working to ensure a similar tragedy doesn’t happen again.
