Seven city tennis players advanced to regional playdowns in Windsor

Journal Staff The Lambton Kent high school tennis championships were held on Oct. 12 at the Sarnia Riding Club and Sarnia Tennis Club. A total of 64 students from 10 Lambton-Kent secondary schools participated in the tournament.

The Lambton Kent high school tennis championships were held on Oct. 12 at the Sarnia Riding Club and Sarnia Tennis Club.

A total of 64 students from 10 Lambton-Kent secondary schools participated in the tournament. The winners from Sarnia-Lambton are listed here:

Boys Singles: 1. Aditya Damani (Northern Collegiate) 3. Mihnea Balan (Northern)

Girls Singles: 1. Divija Bhargava (Northern)

Boys Doubles: 4. Chandler Haagsma & Martin Blouard (Northern)

Girls Doubles:    1. Lexi Graham & Amelie Schmidt (LCCVI) 2. Sarah Hayter & Rebecca Rust (LCCVI)

Mixed Doubles:  1. Vivian Kristjansson & Tristan Haagsma (Northern)

All of the above players advanced to the Southwest regional championships, which were scheduled for Windsor this week.

The team championship was won by Northern with 28 points, which edged out John McGregor of Chatham by three points.
