Senior Games add new events

Six new events are being added to the Sarnia-Lambton district lineup of the Ontario Senior Games.

The new sports are:

* Pickleball, to be played June 8 at the YMCA, starting at 1 p.m. For more, call Linda at 519-336-9622.

* Cycling, including a 5K prediction and 5K timed at 9 a.m. and 20K road race at 11 a.m. Cycling events will be held June 4 on county roads. For more, call Sue at 519-542-2344.

* Running, including 5K timed and 3K prediction events. They go June 18 at 9 a.m. in Canatara Park. For more, call Stan at 519-332-6156.

* Walking, featuring a 3K prediction walk, held at the same time and place as running. Call Stan at 519-332-6156 for more.

The Senior Games are open to anyone in Sarnia-Lambton aged 55 or older.

Registration forms are available at the Strangway Centre, Royal Canadian Legion, Ex Servicemen’s Club and the YMCA.

The one-time registration fee is $10, which includes liability insurance, plus an entry fee of $2 for each event.
