Some Lambton County’s court services are re-opened to the public with numerous pandemic restrictions.

A modified schedule allows in-person ticket payments, extension requests or trials from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday at the Court Services Department, located in the Lambton Shared Services Centre in Bayside Mall.

Visitors are asked to consider using the drop box located by the Christina Street and Lochiel Street entrance or online services whenever possible to limit in-person interactions, says a press release from Lambton County.

Masks are required for visitors and COVID-19 screening will be in place.

All in-person court proceedings scheduled between Mar. 16 and Oct. 16 remain adjourned and new court dates will be sent by mail.

County of Lambton Provincial Offences Court will hear non-trial proceedings remotely by audio conferencing as of Sept. 28. These include guilty pleas, withdrawals, first appearances and adjournments.

Limitation periods under the Provincial Offences Act that were suspended from Mar. 16 to Sept. 11 resume this week. Collection of unpaid fines resumed Sept. 14.
