Sarnia woman, 51, faces drug trafficking charges

A 51-year-old Sarnia woman was arrested and faces a number of drug-related charges after police seized more than $43,000 worth of drugs from a vehicle, Tuesday.

Sarnia Police say an investigation was underway by the Vice Unit, regarding a female believed to be trafficking dugs in Sarnia.

Police stopped the suspect’s vehicle around 8:45 p.m. in the area of Highway 40 and Lasalle Line after it was believed there were suspected drug transactions taking place.

Police say the lone occupant of the vehicle was taken into custody, and a search of the vehicle revealed more than 253 grams of cocaine; more than 255 grams of methamphetamine; 10 oxycodone pills; and $525 in Canadian currency.

The total street value of drugs seized is approximately $43,185.

The accused faces two counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking; one count of drug possession; one count of possession of property obtained by crime; and one count of failure to comply with probation officer.

She has been held pending a bail hearing.
