City council is expected to take a second look at providing free arena WiFi.
The city received bids to provide WiFi in large areas of Progressive Auto Sales Arena, Sarnia Arena, and Clearwater Arena over the next five years.
Bluewater Regional Networks had the lowest bid of $68,000 and city staff recommended approval.
But when council took no action Dec. 9 it effectively killed the proposal. However, the issue is now expected to return for discussion on Jan. 20.
Hockey tournament organizers and other user groups have asked for the service, which would allow updated statistics in real time and give tournaments and events wider exposure on social media.
