The Sarnia Sting have added an assistant coach.
Former NHLer Mark Mancari joins the Sting following a 14-year professional hockey career, the hockey club said.
The London, Ont. native began coaching last year with the Ontario Hockey League’s Niagara Ice Dogs.
As a player, Mancari suited up with the Buffalo Sabres and Vancouver Canucks. He retired after the 2018-19 season following four years in the German Ice Hockey Federation.
“I am tremendously grateful for this opportunity,” said Mancari. “This team has great potential and I can’t wait to get started.”
The Sting also promoted Brad Staubitz to associate head coach. Staubitz and Mancari played together on the Ottawa 67’s 2004-2005 team that advanced to the Memorial Cup Tournament.
