The Sarnia Rapids Swim Team had an impressive showing recently at the WAC (Windsor Aquatic Club) Invitational.

The team, even though we are smaller than most in numbers, did incredibly well,” said Board member Jeff Jones. “We had 16 swimmers attend and all of them made the evening finals over the course of the three-day meet.

“The team had nine medal winners and took home 35 in total.”

Astrid McCormick took home one medal; Ail Page won two, Lucas Jones; Matt
Kemp and Ella Boisvert each won three; Daisy Jenkins, Natalie Pretty and Isabelle
Robert each brought home five (and a regional qualifying time) and Aili Gerardi
won eight in total.

Gerardi also earned a trip to the Ontario Provincial Championships.

Top ten results came from Maddy Palleschi, Rachel Winklmeier, Kate Schleihauf,
Joli Burrowes, Jack Girardi, Owen Blundell and Frankie Montanino.
