Twelve swimmers from the Sarnia Rapids Swim Club qualified for the 2023 Western Region Short Course Championships held at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre in London February 23 – 26.
A total of 583 swimmers were on hand, representing 26 teams at the meet, where Sarnia Rapids members achieved 34 top-eight finishes.
Medal winners were: Matthew Kemp with four golds, Allan Sundby with one gold, three silvers and one bronze, and Aili Girardi with two silver and one bronze.
Jack Girardi, Daisy Jenkins and Lucas Jones won bronze medals.
