Sarnia Police issue warning about e-bikes

Sarnia Police are reminding the owners and drivers of e-bikes that the maximum speed they are allowed to travel is 32 km/hr. Officer recently used radar to measure electric bikes speeds and found some travelling at rates of up to 60 km/hr.

Sarnia Police are reminding the owners and drivers of e-bikes that the maximum speed they are allowed to travel is 32 km/hr.

Officer recently used radar to measure electric bikes speeds and found some travelling at rates of up to 60 km/hr.

It is the responsibility of the driver to ensure an e-bike follows all road regulations. Regardless of the way it was sold to the buyer, or any modifications that may have been made to an e-bike, charges can be laid, police say.
