A 48-year-old Sarnia man was arrested and charged with arson after a fence was deliberately set on fire on Richard Street this week.
Police say the fire was set to a fence on Monday, and expanded, causing damage to the adjacent residence.
The suspect was initially arrested on outstanding warrants, and a subsequent investigation led to the additional charges, which include: Arson – Damage to Property CC 434; Mischief Over $5000 CC 430(3); and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order CC 733.1(1).
He was held in police custody and was scheduled for a bail hearing.
