A 34-year-old Sarnia man has been arrested following an early morning stabbing in the area of Euphemia and Davis streets, police say.
“The men, who were known to each other, were involved in an altercation resulting in one male stabbing the other in the leg,” a news release stated.
The victim received emergency medical treatment from responding officers and Lambton EMS, and was transported to hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.
“This is an active police investigation and the public may see a continued presence in this area,” police said. “There are no outstanding suspects or ongoing threats to public safety.”
The suspect was arrested and is being held pending a bail hearing. He faces charges of aggravated assault; assault with a weapon; assault cause bodily harm; and breach of probation.
Police say he was bound by a probation order that required he not possess any weapon designed or intended to be used to cause death or injury to a person.
