Sarnia-Lambton athletes had an impressive showing at the 2023 Ontario Indoor U16 & U20 Athletics Championships held March 4 and 5 at the Toronto Track and Field Centre.
Northern Collegiate student Gabby Jones won gold in the women’s U20 3,000-metre run and finished 4th in the women’s U20 1,500-metre run.
Fellow Northern Viking Ryan Davies won silver in the men’s U20 3,000 meter race.
Northern’s Rebecca Haney placed 33rd in the women’s U20 1,500-metres and 33rd in the 800-metres, while Lily Bressette, also of Northern, placed 11th in the girls’ U16 2,000-metre race and 18th in the girls’ 1,200-metres.
Charlie Shaw of LCCVI placed 28th in the men’s U20 1,500-metre race and 22nd in the 800-metres.
All are members of the Sarnia Athletics Southwest Track & Field Club, while Davies is a member of the London Western Track & Field Club.
