Sarnia Imperial players named to all-star teams

Some Sarnia Imperials players were recognized by the league recently. Quarterback Julian Shadd-Gentry was named offensive player of the year in the Northern Football Conference.

Some Sarnia Imperials players were recognized by the league recently.

Quarterback Julian Shadd-Gentry was named offensive player of the year in the Northern Football Conference. Shadd-Gentry, who was also named to the second team all-star roster, passed for 2,083 yards and threw 20 touchdowns this season.

With nine tackles and eight received touchdowns, Tyler Storie was named defensive player and named defensive first team all-star.

Josh Wright was named offensive first team all-star. He led the league with 10 received touchdowns.

Cody Burt, Tyler Whatley, Dalton Povey and Jamie Eldridge were named second team all-stars.

The Imperials, who finished first in the west division, fell to the Oakville Longhorns in the July 20 semi-finals.
