A Sarnia firefighters has won a scholarship from the National Fire Protection Association for his dedication to promoting fire safety.
Mike Otis, one of only 12 recipients from Canada and the U.S. to receive the $2,000 scholarship, will use it to attend the NFPA conference in Las Vegas, Nevada in June.
“Mike has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to reducing Sarnia residents’ risk to fire related hazards,” said John Kingyens, chief of Sarnia Fire Rescue Services.
“He is truly deserving of this award.”
