Sarnia Braves dethrone visiting Strathroy Royals

The Sarnia Braves defeated the visiting Strathroy Royals 8-6 to climb above .500 on the Southwestern Senior Baseball league season last week.

Pitcher Wade Babula threw six innings and struck out six and the Braves’ offence delivered 8 runs on 10 hits to take a commanding 8-1 lead by the fifth.

The Royals managed to claw their way but relief from pitchers Eric Steeves and Mike Damchuk snuffed the comeback at Errol Russell Park.

Sarnia stands 2nd in the league behind Ilderton Red Army with a 5-4-1 record.
