Sarnia’s Boady Santavy placed eighth in a 21-man field at the World Junior Weightlifting Championships in Poland.
His score included a new personal best of 146 kg in the snatch and a clean and jerk of 171 kg.
Santavy, 18, is now preparing for his appearance with Team Canada at the Pan Am Games.
He leaves for the GTA on July 9 and his event takes place on July 13 in Oshawa.
