Santavy attending opening of Pan Am Games

Sarnia’s Boady Santavy will be among the sea of red and white at the opening ceremonies of the Pan Am Games in Toronto on Friday, July 10. The 18-year-old will compete in the men's 85-kilo weightlifting event Monday in Oshawa.

Sarnia’s Boady Santavy will be among the sea of red and white at the opening ceremonies of the Pan Am Games in Toronto on Friday, July 10.

The 18-year-old will compete in the men's 85-kilo weightlifting event Monday in Oshawa.

Santavy becomes the third generation of his family to wear Canadian colours at the Pan Am Games.

Father Dalas competed in Brazil in 2007 and grandfather Bob was a member of Team Canada in Mexico in 1975.

Dalas also represented Canada at the Commonwealth Games, while Bob was an Olympian in Montreal in 1976.
