The Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle campaign begins this weekend, with kettle volunteers setting up at eight local locations.
Last year, $126,593 was raised for the ministry’s family services and food bank, which helps about 700 adults and children each month.
The Salvation Army also assists with eyeglasses, medical needs, shelter and other emergency situations.
In Sarnia, kettles will be set up at Walmart, the Superstore, Lambton Mall, Giant Tiger (London Road) Canadian Tire, Metro (Exmouth Street), and in Corunna at No Frills and Foodland.
Anyone willing to volunteers for two-hour shifts between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. until Dec. 24 can call Brian at 519-402-6867.
