As a worker looks on, a crawler excavator grabs up and places an armour stone on the Bright’s Grove shoreline.

The stones, each weighing about 500 pounds (225 kilos) are being installed as part of permanent repairs at two sections of Old Lakeshore Road.

The work is the first tangible sign of Sarnia’s 10-year, $25-million plan to check Lake Huron’s advance.
