Motorists stopped at one busy city intersection can no longer make right turns on a red light.

City staff has erected signs restricting right turns from Brock Street onto London Road, after resident Robert Dickieson provided council with security footage of the intersection showing close calls between vehicles and pedestrians.

Signs prohibiting northbound right turns went up this week.

Police will provide warnings to motorists before a bylaw formally making the change is passed in February.
