Second dose registration for COVID-19 vaccinations is now open to residents 65 years and older, Lambton Public Health said today.

Registration is also open to those who received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on or before May 5.

Residents who received a first dose of the AstaZeneca vaccine on or before May 5 or those 65 years and older can also book a second appointment for another approved COVID-19 mRNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) depending on availability.

The health unit recommends booking your second shot through its online registration page at https://lambtonpublichealth.ca/

Alternatively, residents can book by calling the Vaccine Call Centre from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to p.m. at 226-254-8222.

Call volumes are extremely high, and if you can’t get through immediately you are asked to call back.

Lambton Public Health said it is rescheduling all original second dose appointments to reduce the interval time between the first and second doses.

To date, 69%of adults and 14% of youth aged 0-17 in Sarnia-Lambton have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

To get a copy of your COVID-19 vaccinations, visit the Government of Ontario’s Vaccination Portal. Individuals can log in using their health card number and click on “Vaccine Receipts” to download and print a vaccination confirmation.
