The Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park has received an international award.

The Sarnia-based facility, part of the wider Western Research Parks, was recognized by the Association of University Research Parks at the organization’s annual conference in Oklahoma City on Sept. 30.

The award is presented to universities and research parks operating effectively and making a quantifiable contribution to their community.

Western Research Parks was the first in Ontario and third in Canada to earn the distinction.

The Sarnia campus was created in 2003 and is home to a number of high profile tenants, including Nova Chemicals, Enbridge and WorleyParsons.
