Remembering Cashway

Published on

This aerial photo circa 1970 shows the former Cashway store on Confederation Street, with Indian Road just visible at the top.

The building supply centre opened in 1968 and was home to a tight-knit staff. In fact, 15 of the former employees got together to reminisce about old times at a reunion on March 25, said organizer Terry Hardy.

Cashway was purchased by Rona in 2000 and the store was eventually torn down in 2014.
