Graduation and prom season is just around the corner and so are preparations for this year’s Prom Dress Boutique.

Known as The Cinderella Story, the volunteer program has provided 165 dresses in five years to girls who may otherwise go without.

They’re seeking donations of gently-used or new dresses in all sizes, shoes, jewellery and other accessories.

“The transformation and wide smile on a young lady’s face who may have never even owned a fancy dress, gives you goose bumps,” said Cinderella Story founder Debbie Anderson.

She hopes 60 girls will receive a dress this year.

Donations are being accepted at the Sarnia-Lambton Business Development Corp., 109 Durand St.

Potential recipients are encouraged to register at www.cinderellasarnia.org.

Free dress selection, fittings and alterations take place April 11, 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. and April 12  10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
