A 33-year-old Sarnia man faces charges after police seized nearly $10,000 in drugs from a Christina Street residence, Saturday.

Police say the incident occurred around 4 p.m. when officers with the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit and Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant in an attempt to locate a firearm that was allegedly in the possession of the accused, illegally.

“Officers made entry into the unit without incident and were able to locate the accused who attempted to hide from police,” a news release noted.

As a result of the search, some $9,545 worth of drugs — including cocaine, fentanyl, and crystal methamphetamine — was seized, along with ammunition, a gun safe and body armour.

The man remains in police custody, while an arrest warrant has also been issued for a 28-year-old woman, in relation to drug trafficking charges.
