Point Edward is raising its water and sewer rates 2.39% this year and increasing contributions to environmental reserves.
The moves will see the average home water bill increase an additional $1.55 to about $72 per month.
Point Edward will still have some of the lowest water and sewer rates among Lambton County municipalities, which range from $58 to $121 a month, said water committee chair and Deputy Mayor Greg Grimes.
In addition to padding reserves, the extra money will be used to improve operations in the Environmental Services Department, the village said.
