Work has officially begun on a master plan for Sarnia’s parks, recreation and culture.

Burlington-based Tim L. Dobbie Consulting was hired by city council last week at a cost of $104,000 to oversee the document’s development.

The goal is to create a policy framework in which to develop and manage all recreational services, leisure programs, events, parks, beaches and trails for years to come.

Sarnia also hired an international online engagement company called Bang the Table, at a cost of $5,000, to handle public consultations.
