Pair arrested after police seize $19,000 worth of drugs at Sarnia home

A 26-year-old man and 33-year-old woman, both from Sarnia, face a number of drug-related charges after police searched a home on Savoy Street last week as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

Sarnia Police say members of the vice unit had launched an investigation into a male suspected of trafficking fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine from his residence on Savoy Street.

On Feb. 24, around 7:30 a.m., members of the vice unit and emergency response team executed a search warrant at the residence, where the accused was located and taken into custody without incident.

A second suspect was also located in the residence and taken into custody.

Police seized more than 72 grams of fentanyl worth a street value of $12,614; more than 44 grams of cocaine worth a street value of $5,319; nearly $600 worth of crystal methamphetamine; $500 worth of psilocybin; a 9mm Luger ammunition round; and $655 in cash.

The male faces three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking; one count of failing to comply with a police order, and two counts of breaching a probation order.

The female suspect faces three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
