Hal Regnier, a volunteer walker with the Humane Society, pauses amid the fall colours with the dog Hemi at Sarnia’s Point Lands on Oct. 30. The retired Imperial Oil firefighter, who likes working with more difficult dogs, said Hemi was adopted twice and returned twice after being rescued from a community near Thunder Bay.
