Kettle and Stony Point First Nation resident Teesha Shawnoo, a student at North Lambton Secondary, fires a lacrosse ball that hit the net during a day-long introduction to field lacrosse at Great Lakes Secondary in Sarnia last week. Native education worker Dallas Sinopole said the day, which drew about 100 students, was intended to showcase girls’ lacrosse, cultural awareness and the history of the sport, an Indigenous game that has been played in Canada for centuries.
