Northern Collegiate runner Andrew Davies turned in a strong performance at the 45th annual Nike Rowland Games in Etobicoke, finishing ninth in a field featuring 30 of Ontario’s top high school distance runners.

Competitors in the 3,000-metre race at Centennial Stadium on April 28 appeared by invitation only, based on last year’s results from the all-Ontario cross country championships and other meets last November.

Davies, in Grade 12, finished in 8:52.97, less than 12 seconds behind Campbell Lee of Holy Cross in St. Catharines, who won the race in a time of 8:41.45.
