One of the nine COVID-positive residents moved Friday from Vision Nursing Home to Bluewater Health has died.

The man was the eighth resident of Vision and the 23rd in Sarnia-Lambton taken by the virus.

A hospital management team assumed leadership of infection control at the Sarnia home last week in a bid to slow the outbreak, which had impacted 25 residents and 24 staff members.

Hospital employees also joined staff of the Wellington Street home to assist with nursing, personal support, housekeeping and dietary assistance.

For the second straight day, no new cases of COVID-19 were reported anywhere in the county, Lambton Public Health said this morning.

A total of 263 people have been infected and 207 have recovered, up six from Monday.

As of today, the results of 6,890 tests had been received with 4% coming back positive.

A drive-through testing centre is available in Sarnia to anyone who wants a test at the Twin Bridges Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic, 153 Christina St. South, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phone: 226-776-9030. No appointment is required, and the swabs are performed while people remain in their vehicles.

The Rural Lambton Assessment Centre in Petrolia was scheduled to being testing today. An appointment is required, by calling 519-882-2500.
