The Canada Revenue Agency has launched a new option for the 2018 tax-filing season to help people on low or fixed incomes do their taxes.
The new and free ‘File my Return’ service allows eligible individuals to file their income tax and benefit returns by telephone, without using paper forms.
Eligible individuals should have received an invitation letter by now allowing them to call a dedicated line and answer a series of short questions to complete their filing.
According to the CRA, about 950,000 individuals qualify for the new service.
File my Return runs through the tax-filing season until the end of April.
