A new safety program has been launched to help residents and travellers alike feel confident when visiting tourism businesses.

“Safe Travels” is a program in which operators who follow standardized health and safety protocols can earn certification, allowing them to display a “Safe Travels” logo in their store windows.

The goal is to build confidence and ensure the public feels safe when staying overnight, shopping, dining or visiting local attractions, said Tourism Sarnia-Lambton co-ordinator Beverley Horodyski.

“Safe Travels” is endorsed by the World Travel & Tourism Council, and Tourism Industry Association of Ontario.
