Sarnia is restricting the use of shipping containers to industrial areas of the city
The large steel boxes traditionally used to ship goods on boats and trucks will be allowed in residential and commercial area, but only for moving needs and construction-related activity. Their use will be limited to a maximum 60 days a year and with restrictions on placement.
Existing shipping containers are being “grandfathered” to allow their continue use.
